Want something different? Make different choices.

Everyday we awaken to a new day filled with new opportunities. We are given the option to make choices for ourselves and our families. Like many days, I chose to work out in the pre-dawn hours this morning. Today as a weight day, not my favorite, but I'm trying to work it into my routine. Weight days are my husband's favorite days, I prefer to run.

A quote stuck with me this morning..."If you want something different you have to do something different." Or said by George Santanya "Those who cannot learn from history are doomed to repeat it." Chruchill famously states a similar theme, and basically said one should act on things now and not wait, else we repeat history. You can read his statement here, which is much better than my paraphrase.

So what does this mean? To me, it means that sometimes we have to step out of our comfort zone. Try something new. And act now, don't wait. So, being the week before the New Year, it's appropriate that the topic of change and challenge arise between the lines of making choices. Sometimes when we make a choice or act on a decision, we are stepping out of our comfort zone. And this is what will help us grow.

Get started today, and make some new choices, maybe ones that are not what you normally would have made. It's another new day, so make it a good one.
