April 2012
Peter and Josie both started Taekwon Do through Top Kick Martial Arts in March. They love it! Josie got her first belt (white belt) on April 16 and Peter got his white belt on March 26.

We had some landscape work done in the backyard to help alleviate some moisture/water problems. A dry creek bed or rock creek was put in along our back fence line. I love it, and it really does help move the water out of the yard after a rain.
Peter and I celebrated Mother's Day Tea at the preschool. Such a sweet moment in time. :)

I helped organize the JDRF Kids School Walk at Josie's elementary for the second year in a row. It was a lot of fun, and although it was windy, everyone had a great time.

We had a window (LARGE window) replaced in our living room - go figure, it started to leak between the panes. Too ugly to post a picture.
Peter and I attended kindergarten orientation in preparation for the fall school year.
Most exciting, we actually put together our first team for the JDRF Virginia Walk on May 20. Josie's friend and her family attended and walked with us. We had a great time at the event. This is our second year attending, and will become an annual event for us, so please plan to either donate to our team or join us on walk day. :)

June 2012
Josie got her ears pierced on Father's Day! She did such a great job on her report card for the year that this was her reward for great behavior and good grades. AND... she barely flintched!

The day before, June 22, we participated in the wedding
rehearsal, and enjoyed a great dinner at the Chinese Palace restaurant
(in the pouring rain).
The day of the wedding, June 23, was perfect. Josie was flower girl and Peter was ring boy. It was so gorgeous... James and Kana we love you!
July 2012
Fourth of July we attended the annual downtown Leesburg parade. It is always a lot of fun, and good spirited.
That evening we enjoyed a home-grown fireworks show in front of our home. Many neighbors came by to watch Jeff and Adam put on the show.
Peter attended the McGruff Safety Camp for a week, sponsored by the Loudoun Sheriffs office. He especially enjoyed driving the little mini-four-wheeler, but he learned a lot about safety, too.
On July 30 we embarked on a long awaited, and dreaded, Master Shower re-do project. It started with deconstruction and mold remediation, then the build back of the walls affected and replacement of all the tiles. I have a brand new shower now that is gorgeous; however, as of this posting it is in the final-final stages of completion as Jeff paints the bathroom, and we await the frameless glass shower doors to be installed in the coming weeks. Almost, almost.... I can almost hear that new shower running...but not yet
August 2012
Peter, my little mini-man, began to feel a loose tooth so we watched it for a few days/week and then noticed... TWO new teeth coming in BEHIND his baby teeth. OOPS! So little guy had both bottom front teeth extracted. What a moment, but he was so brave... and when he finally decided to give his two little teeth to the Tooth Fairy (took him a few weeks to separate from them) he found two $2 bills under his pillow.
Also, during the highpoint of our shower project our puppy began to show signs of ingesting something he probably shouldn't have. Turns out (many dollars later) after surgery a piece of an old Nylabone (teething bone for puppies) was extracted from his intestines. Ugh. I think he's had that in him for at least a month. Needless to say, it's been a very, very expensive month at the Linden house.

Also, August 22 Josie and Peter both graduated to their next respective belts in Taekwondo. I am so proud of them!
August 24 was the elementary school meet your teacher day. Peter met his kindergarten teacher, and toured his classroom. Josie met her second grade teacher and toured her classroom. Only a few more days before school starts!!!

August 27 was the first day of school for both Josie and Peter. Such an exciting morning! Both of them got on the bus together, and it was a very crowded bus! This neighborhood is FULL of kids.

September 2012
September 4 Peter started his K-Wild program - follow their blog so you can see what exciting things they are doing in this new program - we love it so far!
